Nadirah iman Bell PHOTOgraphy

Photography has always been a part of my life from my first LeClic disk camera as a kid to my first SLR Pentax K1000.

During my undergraduate studies, I took my first Black & White photography class, which peaked my interest, but I wasn’t interested enough to call it my major.

After transferring to the School of Visual Arts and switching majors again, I did explore Black & White photography one more time by taking another course, but the interest still wasn’t strong enough. I graduated from the School of Visual Arts and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Stop-Motion Animation, a similar concept of taking photos, but the outcome was to create movement.

After being in the workforce for several years, not focused on my creative career, in 2004, I decided to further my education at the Savannah College of Art & Design’s Master of Fine Arts program majoring in Film and Television.

Now here’s where photography comes back into my life. I didn’t really begin to develop my photographic eye until 2017, where I started off using my iPhone. In 2019 my late father, Ronald “Khalis” Bell, gave me his Canon 5D Mark II and said “keep it”. And from that moment onward, I haven’t put it down.

In the summer of 2020, I decided that I wanted to initially become a Product  Photographer, but also discovered Personal Branding Photography in the early part 2021.

So now that you know a little about my journey, I’m excited to hear from you creative entrepreneurs!
